How can I find someone to help crew my yacht?
How can I find someone to help crew my yacht during races on the Clarence river in northern NSW. The boat is 26 ft trailer sailer and pretty comfortable. Very safe. Races are every few weeks from September through to April.
Yes, I have to agree with "Tinpinal" on his statement... a "trailer sailor" is about as far from a yacht as one can get...
But... I am sure it is a great boat.
Anyway...
I did not know there were races for your size vessel that required a "crew"... I am curious now... What races are these and what distance are they?
As a "crew finding" suggestion - if you are going to be advertising or posting notices for "crew" - I wouldn't be referring to my vessel as a "yacht". As I suspect it would greatly inflate someones expectations and deflate their trust and eagerness to come aboard.
I am 62 years old, my vessel is 44' and I never have, and never would refer to it as a "yacht". If you follow the USCG standards... anything under 65' is a boat - and the term "yacht" is reserved for privately owned and very luxuriously appointed recreational vessels (and "luxury" is the key word). All other vessels (over 65') are referred to as their identifying type ie: Sloop, Catamaran, Ketch, Trawler, etc..

PS... I don't mention the "yacht" stuff to be demeaning. I mention it only because it might prevent you from embarrassing yourself in the future. I'm sure your vessel is a great one. But if you are going to call it a yacht - you better start feeding it lots of Rapid Grow. LOL
