Is a 55lb thrust trolling moter enough for 14 ft jon boat?
im getting a jon boat for graduation and was wondering if a 55lb trolling motor enough. i plan to do alot of freshwater fishing in lakes and take it to the intercoastal water. would this be enough to push a 14ft, with 3 people in it?
I use a 55lb thrust on my 18' Targa, it works good most of the time, 45 mph wind will goof if up though. I would use two batteries in series, you will be able to work the bank a lot longer.
