Why am I having knee pain after riding my bike around town?
Well it started about 2 weeks ago, I rode my bike (a beach cruiser - no gears) and it has a trailer for pulling my 4 year old. He weights about 35 pounds. When I got home my knees were hurting like crazy.But it went away the next day. I just turn 30 and I've always being very active. I'm in good shape.But now this weekend I rode my bike, then went for a 3 mile run that same afternoon, and my knees are being hurting bad for the last 4 days. It's like a burning sensation, on both of my knees. Does anybody knows what's this?
It could be improper seat height or you are pedaling too slow and mashing on the pedals. Pulling a trailer on a single speed bike wont help. You may want to switch to a bike that has gears. The best thing for your knees is a fast cadence 70-90 rpm's with a lite pressure on the pedals. That is not practical on a cruiser with a trailer.
